The Inverse Matrix
The Loss of the Human Self in 21st Century America.
What is better...to have free will in a controlled world or to be controlled
in a free world?
To most of us this will sound like a false dichotomy. Nobody is controlling me
you say. And the world is too large and complex to be controlled anyways. I
really wished both notions were true. But I see mounting evidence to the
contrary. Not only this evidence is piling up, it is intensifying.
Oh, I can smell a conspiracy theory coming up you say. And your reticence will
be taken as entirely appropriate skepticism since the mere mention of a
conspiracy theory will dissipate any suspicions that it might actually exist.
Funny how this works. It is an unexamined statement that effectively
discourages examination. It is a double wham for the near irrational. But why
is it so effective? Have you yourself never "conspired" with anyone to make
something happen? It could have been something that you and the other(s)
involved believed were a good thing. It might have not been understood or even
worked if the plan had been made known to others outside the group. It was
better to keep it under wraps. It was for a good cause.
I am going to try this anyways. Try to warn you that we are not in a good
place. That we have not been in a good place for a while. I do not mean
geographically in the macro sense, like a city or state or country. I mean in
that innermost of places. The mind. Our minds are not and have not been in a
healthy environment. Our minds cannot express themselves via public words. We
have not been allowed to be true to ourselves. And this has absolutely nothing
to do with believing we are right. Nothing to do with wanting our reasoning to
be adopted by everyone listening. Human nature does not possess the
characteristic of having perfect comprehension. It is just not possible. But
our minds, our human nature, our "self"...it is the only thing that belongs to
each one of us and to no-one else. If it becomes an "entity" to be controlled
by others, no matter their intentions, good or evil, then the reality of human
existence loses its meaning.
